Our history with Erick Monterrosa pre-dates ILADI. With individual collaborations with such a renowned Nicaraguan artist, we have watched Erick become a sublime figure in the world of international photography. His charisma, passion, and desire for societal change are one of the many virtues that make him the perfect partner for our network of creatives.
He has collaborated individually with us in hundreds of editorials, magazines, and fashion catalogs. Erick’s story is not only one of success, but the perfect example of how outstanding Latin American talent pushes boundaries and overcomes challenges imposed by societal stigmas around the world of art and design.

About Erick
Erick Monterrosa is a transcendental Nicaragüan-Salvadoran photographer currently showcasing his philosophy in Madrid, Spain.
His Beginnings
Erick was born on April 29, 1989 in San Salvador, El Salvador. Growing up as an only child in a society with strict views, Erick began to question his role as a male figure. From a young age, he expressed interest in exploring and studying the human figure to showcase his vision through drawings, which simultaneously fueled his interest in television programs and beauty competitions.
His Self-Discovery
His passion for the arts began in Nicaragua, after him and his family set down roots in the land of lakes and volcanoes. He developed a strong connection with the country, and soon enough, Erick was calling Nicaragua his homeland.
He forged his education in Ave Maria College (now Keiser University), graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. At this internationally-oriented university, Erick discovered photography as a powerful tool to challenge his own fears and stigmas in his introspective journey. Thinking outside the box and testing societal boundaries became the norm.
His Photography & Style
Erick believes in challenging “normalcy”. By using photography as a medium to address social issues and stigmas, he develops his purest forms of photography by connecting with femininity, promoting liberty of expression and being as a human right, equality as a premise, and questioning gender roles as a theme of constant debate.
His photography transcends reality and challenges his subjects to bare their souls through the lens, pushing them beyond their limits. This type of expression and artform is a dynamic, empathetic, and endless dance with sensory perception, beauty, idealized perfection, and aesthetics. Experimentation is the main pillar behind all of his work, staying true to the style of changing the mundane into something magical.
